Most of the information I have on this branch of my family was kindly supplied by Janet Smith. Agnes Johnstone was one of the sisters of my 3xgreat grandfather Thomas Johnstone. Her daughter Martha and her family are commemorated on a gravestone in Muirkirk, Ayrshire. The photo below shows the gravestone, with a full transcription alongside.

Martha Davidson, wife of James Callan
died 11th April 1879 aged 40 years.
Mary Johnstone Callan, their daughter.
died 30th June 1880 aged 1 year.
James Callan, their son,
died 17th September 1911, aged 75 years

Grace, their daughter
Wife of Matthew Anderson,
died 30th January 1903, aged 61 years.
And their daughter Annie
died 4th January 1880 aged 25 years

Also his grand daughter
Janet Forsyth.
Aged 15months
